Ask a questionWhat can I monitor at home with SensorTree?
Comfort and air quality (humidity, temperature, CO₂, PM2.5, PM10 and VOC), motion in hallways and entrances, and electrical energy use. Each product lists its measurement range and accuracy in the specification table on this page.
How do the sensors connect?
It depends on the product and is listed in each specification. The HS-200 humidity sensor and EM-350 energy monitor use Wi-Fi, the AQM-300 air quality monitor lists Wi-Fi and Bluetooth LE, and the MD-150 motion detector uses Zigbee 3.0, which needs a compatible Zigbee hub or gateway.
Will I get alerts on my phone?
Yes. You set limits for each sensor, and when a reading crosses one the platform notifies you by app, email or SMS. If nobody acknowledges, reminders repeat and the alert can escalate to the next person, such as another family member.
Can I control lights and appliances remotely?
Control works with devices that have control channels: you can switch outputs and change set points from the app. The sensors on this page measure and report readings. Ask us which devices you can control in your home.
Can I set up schedules and routines?
Yes, for compatible devices. Schedules run equipment at set times on a daily, weekly, monthly or custom repeat. Rule-based automation checks conditions, for example a humidity limit, and then acts, such as alerting you or switching an output.
Can I monitor more than one home?
Yes. Each property can be its own site, with rooms organised as groups, so a main home, a holiday home or a rental all appear in one dashboard.
How do I know if a sensor stops working?
The dashboard shows each device's status, so you can see when a sensor stops reporting. Battery-powered sensors list their battery type and expected life in the specification, for example two AAA batteries for the MD-150 motion detector.
Can I buy online?
Products with a published price can be added to the cart and bought online once you sign in. For larger homes, several properties or questions about which sensors you need, send us a message and we will recommend a setup.
